Forum Report: October 12, 2004
A regular monthly meeting of the LASPE Petroleum Technology Forum was held October 12, 2004 at the Long Beach Petroleum Club. Thirty-eight LASPE members and guests heard an excellent discussion by Distinguished Lecturer Aiden McKay outlining an optimistic prognosis of the future of the petroleum industry. Fundamentals of supply and demand, population growth, economic growth and the overwhelming dominance of petroleum in the worldwide energy mix were reviewed and form the theme for continued growth in our industry. Click here to access the PowerPoint slides of Mr. Mckay's talk or Click here to download a MS Word file of his SPE Paper.
Unfortunately, no photos of Mr. McKay presenting his talk are available because my d-cam batteries gave out after taking one photo of LASPE's new Forum Chairperson, Maryam Davari introducing Mr. McKay to the audience. The decorative lei, a leftover from the PetClub's Aloha Night, looks good.
Please contact Maryam with your ideas and suggestions for future Forum topics.
