Division of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources - Issues, Challenges, Opportunities and the Path Forward
Tim Kustic, State Oil and Gas Supervisor
The September meeting of the Conservation Committee of California Oil and Gas Producers (CCCOGP) will be held jointly with the LA Basin Section SPE. It will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at The Grand at Willow St. Centre, 4101 East Willow Street, Long Beach, California.
Tim Kustic, the State Oil and Gas Supervisor, will be our guest speaker. The title of Tim’s presentation is “Division of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources - Issues, Challenges, Opportunities and the Path Forward”. As the Division approaches its 100th year since establishment, its internal operations and priorities are rapidly evolving, as are the number and make-up of parties interested in the Division's work. The once behind-the-scenes regulatory agency known mainly to the upstream oil, gas, and geothermal operators has come to the attention of the public, environmental organizations, and multiple governmental agencies. In this visible and dynamic environment, the Division continues to carry out its core mandates to prevent damage to life, health, property, and natural resources and to encourage the wise development of oil, gas, and geothermal resources.
