The SPE Golden Gate Section will be hosting the 2009 SPE Western Regional Meeting at the Double Tree Hotel in San Jose, California on March 24-26.
The theme for the meeting is "New Solutions for Maximizing Recovery and Value". Our main focus area is Reservoir Management, Conventional and Innovative Techniques. We want the Western Regional Meeting to provide an opportunity for the local and worldwide energy industry professionals to bring together the main problems that the region's energy industry is facing in term of asset operation and management, and combine their experience and knowledge to solve them.

The meeting webpage is: http://www.spe.org/events/wrm. Here you can see more details and updated information on the meeting.

This meeting should be of great interest to energy professionals and companies worldwide because of our region's success in operating in difficult environment and regulatory settings.

Although Reservoir Management, Conventional and Innovative Techniques will be the main focal point of the Western Regional Meeting, we also want to broaden the technical presentations and posters to other technical areas that are main concerns in our region. These are:

To make this event the most successful and interesting Western Regional Meeting yet, we need your help ! We ask you to share your technology and experiences by writing a paper and submitting an abstract for the meeting. We also need your help in encouraging your colleagues and associates to do the same. The success of your regional meeting depends heavily on a strong support of 'local' energy professionals and energy companies.

We are also working at organizing social events, both for the conference participants and the students. This will be fun !

You can submit your abstract(s) online at: http://manuscripts.spe.org/ams/cgi-bin/main.plex <http://manuscripts.spe.org/ams/cgi-bin/main.plex> . The deadline for abstract submission has been extended to October 3rd 2008.
